For children and young people with sensory processing difficulties, 
information received through the senses does not make the same
connections that it does for everyone else which creates challenges
in performing countless everyday tasks.
This training has been developed by TADSS practitioners who have a wealth of experience and knowledge of ways to understand, support and teach pupils with sensory needs. The training aims to increase staff awareness, confidence and effectiveness. It will cover:
- An overview of the 7 areas of the sensory system.
- Behaviours students may show if they have difficulties
in any of these areas. - Ideas for strategies and resources, including examples
of resources. - Suggestions for further research, books, websites and
DVDs.
Led by: Lisa White
Lisa is Head of Primary at Wyvern Academy with many years of experience working with pupils with a range of special needs. She has a special interest in how sensory needs can be met within school to help pupils be ready to learn.
