Planning for the new Ofsted framework

This course is for Senior Leaders wishing to gain a clear understanding of the key issues involved in preparing for Ofsted inspections under the new framework. The course is led by Head teachers who have recently taken part in the pilot Ofsted inspections and who therefore have a very comprehensive understanding and deep knowledge of how to approach key issues and changes in the system of inspection.
This training is being run by Seán Kretz, Diane Makariou and Joe Barnett.
Seán Kretz is Headteacher at Westfield Arts College, a 4-19 Dorset special school in Weymouth. He has been a National Leader of Education since February 2015.
Diane Makariou and Joe Barnett are Co-Heads of Beaucroft Foundation School in Wimborne.
The course will cover:
- Background to the new Ofsted framework
- Main principles of the new framework
- Overview of the areas of judgement
- The inspection model
- Curriculum and Quality of Education
- Key messages from pilot and live inspections
- Reflection and planning for your own setting
