This afternoon workshop will consider the following questions to help those implementing or considering a system of supervision in their school. It is suitable for senior leaders and line managers in all schools.
What is the purpose of supervision in an educational establishment? Why supervise; what are the benefits? How can this be implemented and made sustainable?
This workshop will cover:
- An understanding of the benefits of supervision
- The principles behind supervision and how this positively impacts on outcomes
- An outline of the process and procedures needed to implement supervision
Event leader: Jackie Shanks, Head Teacher at Mountjoy School and a National College SLE. Jackie has wide experience and deep knowledge of teaching and working with pupils with complex emotional needs and behaviour. Previously, she was the Head Teacher of two other school:, a day maintained SEBD school and an independent school for pupils with complex needs, where she was also responsible for the management of five care locations, responsible for the supervision of Residential Care Managers.
