Every 22 minutes a child under 16 in the UK loses a parent, making up some 24,000 a year. Many more are bereaved of a grandparent, sibling, friend or other significant person, and, sadly, around 12,000 children die in the UK each year.

Three sessions which cover key aspects of bereavement in our schools:

Session 1: Supporting children with the issues of bereavement, grief and loss – acknowledgement, understanding signs, behaviours, sharing news and activities to understand death and the emotions of bereavement.

Session 2: Helping staff to professionally manage bereavement, grief and loss – difficult times, school and classroom environments, supporting families and staff following a death.

Session 3: Preparing your school – policies, procedures and a curriculum to support the issues of bereavement, grief and loss.
